National Contest Information
The National Contest will be held June 14-18, 2020 at the University of Maryland, College Park.
The Nevada delegation has several meet ups throughout the week
Sunday afternoon we celebrate with a pizza party and button exchange
Wednesday morning we meet our Senators and take a Capitol tour
Wednesday evening (weather permitting) we take an unofficial walking tour of the monuments

Registration
All Registrants will need the following items to register for the National History Day Contest

Teacher Fees
- Home Contact Information (including telephone number)
- Your Email Address (valid email addresses are required)
- Medical Information (prescriptions, doctor contact information, etc)
- Medical Insurance Policy Number
- Registration Closes: TBD
- Paper and Website submission deadline: TBD
Students will need these additional items
- Teacher Name and School
- Chaperone Name and cell phone number
- Entry Category, Division and Title
- Name of All the Students in Group
- Description of Entry
- Purchase Order Number (if applicable)
- Contact Information for Local Television Stations & Newspapers
Contest Fees
- Each student must pay the required registration fee to attend the contest.
- All members of group projects who win at state must register INDIVIDUALLY and pay for the national competition.
- NHD accepts school purchase orders for full or partial payment. If your school or any other organization is paying any of your fees, please include a purchase order number when you register.
- Credit cards can be used to pay online. Checks and money orders are also accepted; please make the proper notations in the system.
- If you need help raising money, please check with your school, the PTA, or various community groups – sometimes all you have to do is ask!
Teacher Fees
- Teachers may register for the contest and attend additional training and workshops while in attendance.
- There is a $45 registration fee to participate in any of the teacher activities, which also includes materials to use in your classroom.
- NHD accepts school purchase orders for full or partial payment. If your school or any other organization is paying any of your fees, please include a purchase order number when you register.

Housing
- The majority of students attending the National contest stay in the dorms at the University of Maryland. To get an idea of the cost of on-campus housing, click here for 2017 prices. If staying off campus, click here for hotels.
- Students will be designated a chaperone (usually their teacher) during their stay in the dorms. The chaperone is also required to stay in the dorms with the students.
- The Coordinator from NHD in NV will attend the national contest but is not a chaperone for students as they have specific duties to attend to with the National NHD Office.
